Myofascial release is a hands-on technique aimed at eliminating “trigger points” or adhesions that accumulate in the body. These adhesions can generate pain and restrict normal movement. They are often caused by injuries, trauma, sustained postures, repetitive tasks and surgical procedures. Though this technique can be uncomfortable while it is performed, the majority of patients find the temporary discomfort to be a worthwhile segway to better function.
