Chiropractic

Chi·ro·prac·tic

Derived from the Greek words meaning “hand practice,” chiropractic reflects the hands-on nature of care. In Canada, chiropractors are regulated primary healthcare providers trained to assess, diagnose, and manage conditions related to the spine, joints, muscles, and nervous system.

Chiropractic focuses on the complex relationship between your nerves, muscles, and joints and how they work together to support movement, function, and overall well-being. When joints become restricted, muscles tighten, or nerves become irritated, your body may compensate in ways that lead to pain, stiffness, or reduced performance.

How Chiropractic Works

Chiropractic care is more than just spinal adjustments. It begins with a thorough assessment that includes your health history, injury patterns, posture, movement mechanics, and lifestyle demands. From there, we identify the root contributors to your symptoms—whether that’s joint restriction, muscle imbalance, movement dysfunction, or nervous system sensitivity.

Treatment may include joint mobilization or manipulation (adjustments), soft tissue therapy, rehabilitative exercises, ergonomic guidance, and education to help you better understand your body. The goal is to restore mobility, reduce pain, optimize nervous system function, and improve how your body moves and performs.

Whether you’re managing acute pain, recovering from injury, navigating chronic tension, or simply wanting to move more efficiently, chiropractic care supports your body’s natural ability to heal; helping you feel stronger, more aligned, and more resilient in your everyday life.

What to Expect

When your body starts sending signals like pain, stiffness, or headaches, it’s often a sign that something needs attention.

Your first chiropractic visit at Stride is about slowing things down and understanding what your body is trying to tell us. Your visit begins with a conversation, followed by a focused physical assessment. We look at posture, joint movement, muscle tension, and how different areas of your body work together. Pain rarely develops in isolation, and these patterns often help explain why certain areas become irritated, painful, or overworked.

Once the assessment is complete, we review what we found and talk through the treatment options that may help. Nothing happens unexpectedly; you’ll understand what we’re doing and why before we move forward.

Treatment may include muscle work, acupuncture, cupping, adjustments, and movement-based exercises that are often combined together in the same session depending on what your body needs that day.

By the end of the visit, you’ll leave feeling informed, supported, and confident about what comes next.
