How Personal Training Works

Personal training at Stride begins with discovering your fitness baseline. We analyze posture, strength, mobility, balance, and movement patterns to identify areas of opportunity and potential risk.The unique part of Personal Training at Stride is the ability for your trainer to connect with your therapist (physiotherapist, chiropractor, etc.) to ensure a safe starting point for you to build from.

From there, we design a progressive, structured program tailored to you. Depending on your goals, this may focus on:

  • Core stability and control
  • Flexibility
  • Balance and coordination
  • Cardiovascular conditioning
  • Functional training for daily life

This program is available to our clients beyond their in-person training sessions via an online and app based exercise database called Physitrack.

Your trainer guides you through each session with coaching, cueing, and education. This helps you understand what you’re doing and why. The goal is not just to complete workouts. It’s to build movement literacy, resilience, and long-term independence.

What to Expect

Personal Training at Stride begins with a comprehensive 45-minute initial session designed to understand you and your goals. During this session, we take time to discuss your health history, injuries, strengths, limitations, lifestyle factors, and the outcomes you hope to achieve. This detailed conversation allows us to build a clear understanding of where you are starting from and develop the most effective plan moving forward. If you are referred by one of our team members, we collaborate to allow your personal training experience to be as specific to your body needs as possible.

Following the initial session, each personal training session is 30 minutes of work aimed towards your goals. You can expect sessions to be progressive and intentional, focusing on safe movement, proper exercise technique, and steady improvement over time. Session design is adjusted as you progress to ensure you continue building strength, confidence, and function.
