Jen was born and raised in the small town of Goderich in southwest Ontario. She grew up playing club volleyball and competitive softball. After high school, Jen moved to London, Ontario, where she earned a Bachelor of Science (Honours Biology and Physiology) from the University of Western Ontario. She later relocated to Alberta to complete her Master of Science in Physical Therapy at the University of Alberta. Since graduating, Jen has worked in various private practice clinics before co-founding Stride Physiotherapy & Wellness in 2018. Her vision was to provide Central Albertans with improved access to high-quality healthcare.
Jen is credentialed to perform several restricted activities, including the use of needles in practice (Functional Dry Needling and Acupuncture), ordering diagnostic imaging, performing spinal manipulations, and conducting pelvic health internal examinations. She has also completed extensive post-graduate training, with a particular focus on Women’s Health. Jen treats a wide range of conditions from head to toe, with special interests in chronic headaches, jaw dysfunction, and hip pain.
She is deeply passionate about supporting women through all life stages, particularly during hormonal transitions such as perimenopause and menopause. She focuses on the impact of these changes on musculoskeletal and bone health, striving to enhance care and support for women navigating these significant phases. She also enjoys working with women during their prenatal and post-partum journeys, empowering them for labor and delivery, and helping them return to activity.
Jen’s ultimate goal is to help her patients get back to doing what they love through a combination of hands-on manual therapy, education, and tailored exercise programs. In her spare time, Jen stays active through running and working out. When she’s not at work, she enjoys chasing after her two young children and spending quality time with her family.
