Neurological Rehabilitation
Neuro Rehab focuses on helping people who have disorders or damage to their nervous system. This type of physiotherapy includes assessment to identify deficits caused as a result of neurological problems and treatment aimed at regaining function. Some common interventions included in Neuro Rehab are:
- Improving motor planning, coordination and control
- Re-training gait and balance
- Restoring range of motion and strength
- Improving posture and stabilizing the core
- Decreasing spasticity and muscle tone
- Teaching safe transfer skills
- Educating the use of mobility and gait aids (walkers, crutches, etc.)
