Neurological Rehabilitation

Neuro Rehab focuses on helping people who have disorders or damage to their nervous system. This type of physiotherapy includes assessment to identify deficits caused as a result of neurological problems and treatment aimed at regaining function. Some common interventions included in Neuro Rehab are:

  • Improving motor planning, coordination and control
  • Re-training gait and balance
  • Restoring range of motion and strength
  • Improving posture and stabilizing the core
  • Decreasing spasticity and muscle tone
  • Teaching safe transfer skills
  • Educating the use of mobility and gait aids (walkers, crutches, etc.)
